College of Agricultural Sciences
In January 2013 Dr. Mark Brennan, Associate Professor of Rural Community and Leadership Development, was named UNESCO Chair in Rural Community, Leadership, and Youth Development. Located in the College of Agricultural Sciences, and co-hosted by the College's Center for Economic and Community Development and its Office of International Programs, the Chair will focus on aspects of youth leadership and training in developing regions.
There are 766 Chairs worldwide but only 18 in the United States. The Chairs program is designed to leverage academic expertise. The Penn State Chair is the only one located in a College of Agricultural Sciences.
