Casita de Mausi is a non-profit hospice and care facility in Panama City, Republic of Panama. It is devoted to providing care and lodging free of charge for low-income cancer patients who come from the Interior of the country. Without assistance these patients would not have the ability to travel the distances of up to eight hours in order to receive the superior oncology treatment available in the urban center.

Casa Mausi provides a comfortable and caring environment in which to stay. The patients receive on-site medical care, transportation to treatment facilities, as well as recreation and emotional therapy to ease the strain of their illness and being far from family. As demonstrated in the video, this loving support helps each patient make their way through what can be a personally devastating experience.

The pandemic has drastically decreased annual fund-raising, thus monetary assistance is very much appreciated. Donations can be made to the Centre County UNA PayPal account. This is the first in what we hope will become a series of "Stories of Hope" highlighting how individuals and organizations are reaching out to help one another in difficult times.

We hope to publish these stories on our website via our blog and on Facebook. The stories can be video or audio files, short stories, or poems, short blog posts, or art works. If you have an idea for a story and would like to submit it please use our Google form. Denice Rodaniche, UNA-CC Board of Directors.
